BLOOMINGTON — Tobene “Tobi” Schramm Millar,  born and raised in Bloomington and a 1965 graduate of Bloomington High School, passed away May 11, 2012, in Pensacola, Fla., near her residence after a long battle. Her mother, Donita Schramm, was by her side along with her daughter and grandson.

Tobi is survived by her mother; two children, Mindy and Andrew; their spouses; and five wonderful grandchildren.

Tobi lived with her mom and dad on Gridley Street from 1947 to 1966 until attending college at Southern Illinois University. Soon after graduating, she was married and moved to the San Francisco Bay area where she spent the next 20 years raising her children and exploring California.

Tobi moved to the Pensacola region in 1999 and her mother and daughter relocated nearby over the coming years. Tobi enjoyed the outdoor activities Florida has to offer and her grandchildren.

Her memory will be cherished by family and friends. A special thank you to Covenant Hospice for the support and care.

Tobi was a good friend in High School to everyone she met.  She is missed.

Tobi and I were babies next door to each other when my parents lived on Gridley, across the alley from Tobi and her folks.  We learned about friends as we grew up together.  Played in the sand box together and later on with other neighborhood girls played cowboys and Indians as we raced around in circles around Grandpa's house.  We "played on the cellar door"  many times at her house.  Even when my folks got a different house, we were at Grandma and Grandpa's a lot of the time, so we continued to play.  Tobi will be sorely missed for many years to come.

Tobi was one of the sweetest girls in high school.  She never failed to smile and say Hi! in the hallway. She was so well loved by all who knew her.  She was just adorable!!

I was so sad to read this post.  Tobi was my first "girlfriend" in 3rd grade at Jefferson Grade School and my first date at the age of 12 at a dance at State Farm Park.  A fond memory of that time was Tobi patiently teaching me how to dance counting "1,2,3,4" as the music played. I can see her beautiful smile now as if she were standing in front of me.  RIP beautiful girl.
