Betty Lou Butts Griffin

BLOOMINGTON - Betty Lou Griffin, 61, Bloomington, died at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday (May 13, 2009) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with Deacon Bob Hermes officiating. Inurnment will be in Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington, at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous in care of the family.

Betty was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Betty Lou Groves Butts.

She is survived by one daughter, Theresa Adelman, Pekin; one granddaughter, Paige Morgan Adelman; one brother, Randy (Liz) Butts, Bloomington; and her companion, Del Vance, Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Betty attended Stephens College in Missouri.

She was very active in helping others and was always loving, generous and giving.

She volunteered in the BroMenn Thrift Shop after her retirement.

Betty loved her cats. She will be missed and remembered for her Ford Mustang.
