John William Sanders, 69, of Windsor, Colorado, died March 31, 2016, peacefully, at home.

Mr. Sanders was born March 2, 1947, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Thomas and Vera (Farwell) Sanders.  He graduated from Bloomington High School.  On March 21, 1972, he married Linda Altenbern in Lena, Illinois.  He owned South Hill Masonry in Fort Collins and Windsor.

He was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Fort Collins.  John was a very caring person.  He loved cars, especially rebuilding classic cars for himself and his family.  One of his life joys was spending time with people.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Linda R. Sanders; children Jason (Angela) Sanders, and Heather (Scott) Breithaup; siblings, David and James Sanders, Sue Owens and Marietta Williams; and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rose Geisel.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Marks Funeral Chapel in Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice.
